A sign at 28 State St., Auburn, indicates that Prison City Pub and Brewery will occupy the space come autumn.

The business will serve small-batch craft beer brewed on-site to complement a menu of pub food inspired by the travels of owner Dawn Schulz, with a focus on farm-to-table cuisine, the restaurant's website says.

"Our mission is to add the 'brewpub experience' to Auburn — a laid-back, high-quality, industrial/rustic establishment where everything is being made before your eyes," the site says.

With her husband, Marc, Schulz owned and operated Bistro One on Genesee Street from November 2008 to May 2010.

The 28 State St. property was most recently occupied by Yesteryears Coffee House and Cafe, which moved out in October 2008 to become the Underground Cafe in Metcalf Plaza.
