An executive with history in the higher education and health care fields will join Wells College this summer.

Lawrence "Larry" Jerome will start as the new vice president for advancement for the Aurora college in August, Wells announced Wednesday. Jerome had been the senior vice president for institutional advancement at the not-for-profit health care system Cone Health in North Carolina, the news release said.

His background includes having been the vice president of the Angeletti Group in New Jersey and managing director of development at Lifespan, a not-for-profit health care system based in Providence, Rhode Island. With Lifespan, he coordinated major gift fundraising for area and regional hospitals.

Wells said that Jerome's experience with higher education fundraising includes being the regional director for university relations at Wesleyan University in Connecticut and being the deputy director of development at the Yale University School of Medicine/Yale–New Haven Hospital in Connecticut.
