The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for an area of central New York that includes the southern half of Cayuga County and all of Onondaga County.
The agency said 2 to 5 inches of snow could accumulate in hgher elevations from Monday night into Tuesday.

DESCRIPTION: ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 11 AM EST TUESDAY...
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches across the higher elevations, with 1 to 3 inches in the lower elevations, including the Syracuse metro area.
* WHERE...Seneca, Southern Cayuga and Onondaga Counties.
* WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 11 AM EST Tuesday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.
