AUBURN — Arlene G. Blay, 89, of Auburn, passed away peacefully Jan. 8, 2018 at The Commons on St. Anthony in Auburn.
Arlene was born Aug. 2, 1928 in North Troy, Vermont, a daughter of the late Joseph and Goldie LaBounty King. She moved to Moravia with her husband Oscar O. Blay Sr. in the mid 1970s where they both owned and operated a dairy farm where they raised their family. She lived in Auburn for several years.
Arlene enjoyed time spent with her sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. She will be sadly missed by all of them.
Surviving are her sons, Melvin (Audrey), of Moravia, Richard (Elaine), of Roann, Indiana, Ronald (Rita), of North Carolina and Oscar Jr. (Kathy), of Auburn; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Blay, of Moravia; 13 grandchildren, Matthew Blay, of Moravia, Nikkie Blay, of Auburn, Eric (Nikki) Blay, of Weedsport, Jason (Becca) McConnell, of Weedsport, Ryan McConnell, of Auburn, Kyle (Ashley G.) Blay, of Watertown, Ashley Blay, of North Carolina, Christopher Blay, of St. Ignace, Michigan, R.J. Blay, of Auburn, Samantha Blay, of Auburn, Terri (Jeff) Champan, of Mexico, N.Y., Brenda (John) Jeffery, of Cortland and Laura (Mike) Whitner, of Roann, Indiana; her great-grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Caleb and Bailey Blay, of Weedsport, Ryan McConnell, of California, Jayden Blay, of Auburn, Jasmyne Blay,of Watertown, Jason S. McConnell, of Sennett, Amanda and Robert Champan, of Mexico, N.Y., James, John, and Veronica Jeffery, of Cortland and Chelsea and Brianna Whitner, both of Roann, Indiana; one brother, Lawrence (Marge) King, of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Oscar O Blay Sr. in 2008, two sons, Reggie Blay in 1997 and Robert Blay in 2011 and a daughter, Starr Marie Blay (Kinkaid) in 2011.
Per Arlene's request, all services will be private. Burial is delayed until spring in the Lickville Cemetery in Moravia.
Funeral arrangements are with the Wade Funeral Home, Moravia.
