NORTH ROSE — Edwin E. Roberts, 73, of North Rose, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, at The Commons at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Auburn.
Ed was born in Sodus on Jan. 28, 1945, to the late Elvin Roberts and Mary Henecke Roberts. Ed attended Red Creek schools and enlisted in the Navy after high school. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Gleason Works as a machinist. Ed was also a 37 year member with the Wolcott Elks Club. Ed was a licensed pilot, owning his own plane in which he loved to fly. Ed enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, boating and camping. Ed enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was known for his sense of humor.
Ed is survived by his wife, Kathryn; daughter, Shelley (Larry McRae) Fulton; sons, Darryl (Marsha) Roberts, of Ocoee, Fla., Dale (Tammy) Roberts, of Red Creek, and R.J. and Nicole Roberts; step daughter, Kristy Butler (Patrick Mulherin), of Auburn; step sons, Mike and Doug Butler, of Auburn; step daughters-in-law, Stephanie and Wendy Butler, of Auburn; brother, Elvin “Jr.” (Linda) Roberts, of Sodus, and a sister, Joan Aldrich, of Weedsport. Ed has 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ed was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Dick Aldrich.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Commons at St. Anthony, Auburn, for their compassionate care during Ed’s time of need.
Calling hours will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, with a service at 5 p.m. at the Becker-Keysor Funeral Home, Red Creek.
