MORAVIA — H. Richard Bell, 87, of Moravia, died Friday, May 10, 2019, at his home on Owasco Lake.
Dick was born Aug. 17, 1931 in Dryden, a son of Howard and Kathryn Johnson Bell. He was a former resident of McLean and lived in Moravia for several years. He established the electrical business “Bell Electric” and was also a Cayuga County Electrical Inspector for the New York State Board of Fire Underwriters until retirement. Dick was a member of McLean Fire Department and Moravia Fire Department with 59 years combined service. He was a member of the Fireman Association of the State of New York, Central New York Fireman Association, St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, Moravia, St. Mark’s in Mesa, Ariz. and St. John’s in Kissimmee, Fla.
Dick was married for 65 years to the former Carol Stiles, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Lynette Pittinger and Paul Lipinoga, of Moravia, Rick and Elaine Bell, of McLean, Ted and Tina Bell, and Tim and Doreen Bell, both of Moravia; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Janice McFall, of Groton; and one brother, Edward Bell, of Dryden.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon preceding the funeral services at noon on Friday, May 17, 2019, in St. Matthew’s Church, Moravia. A luncheon reception will follow in the church parish hall.
