AUBURN — Mr. Robert L. House, of Auburn, passed away Monday, June 17, 2019, at the Commons on St. Anthony Street.
A native of Auburn, Robert was the son of Frank and Katherine Dougherty House. He was a graduate of West High School, Auburn and had attended various classes at Auburn Community College. He retired from ALCO of Auburn as a tool maker with 31 years of service. He relocated to Atlantic City and began employment at the Showboat Casino as a concierge for 16 years. A Korean War veteran with the U.S. Marine Corps, Robert was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1975 and the American Legion Post 1324.
He is survived by his companion, Janet Dickinson; his children, Roberta Laster, SFC Retired, (David), of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Thomas House (Sherry) SGM Retired USA, of Auburn; four grandchildren, Thomas House Jr. (Laura), of Henrietta, N.Y., Christine House (Mike), of Union Springs, N.Y., Candyace House, Captain U.S. Army, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Dominique Laster, of Little Rock, Ark.; five great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Traver, of Auburn; and nephew, Kevin House, of Brooklyn, Md.

He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas House, and their parents.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at Farrell’s Funeral Service, Inc., 84 South St., Auburn, with Rev. Justin D. Miller, officiating. Interment with full military honors will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to services at Farrell’s Funeral Service, Inc.
