AUBURN — Sharon A. Steigerwald, 74, of Teller Avenue, Auburn, passed away peacefully with her loving family surrounding her on Feb. 10, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Born in Auburn on March 14, 1943, Sharon was the daughter of the late George and Louise Young Cuskey. Sharon married Robert Steigerwald on May 4, 1963 and together they share three children. She worked in the business office at Cayuga Onondaga BOCES until her retirement. Sharon was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church and also volunteered in many of the church functions. She was a member of the Rosary and Scapular Society, Auburn Service League, and co-director of SS. Peter and John soup kitchen. She took great pride in her garden and landscaping. Sharon enjoyed cooking, traveling, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Robert Steigerwald; her daughters, Kristin M. (Michael) McKee, and Kathryn E. (David) Baim; her son, James C. (Debra) Steigerwald; her grandchildren, Robert Steigerwald, Timothy Steigerwald, David Baim, Aaron Baim, Veronica Baim, and Kaitlyn Baim; her brothers, Thomas (Angela) Cuskey, and John (Madeline) Cuskey; her sisters, Carol (Richard) Beauchine, and Joyce Cuskey; her beloved dog, Shadow, and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours for Sharon will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14 at White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South St., Auburn. A Mass of Christian celebration will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary’s Church, Auburn. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Auburn.
