WEIRTON, W. Va. — Walter Frank Robinson, 68, of Weirton, W. Va., passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, at the Hampton Regional Medical Center, Varnville, S.C.
Born April 14, 1950 in Auburn, N.Y., he was a son of the late Ellwood and Mabyn (Clark) Robinson.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Dannie Tanner; daughter, Missy Tanner, and sister, Joni Robinson.
Walter was a lifelong truck driver and most recently worked for Smith Transport. He proudly served in the United States Marines during Vietnam. He was a diehard Redskins fan and a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Deanne (Tilla) Robinson, of Weirton; sons, Shane Hackett, of Union Springs, N.Y., and Brett Robinson, of Harveys Lake, Pa.; daughters, Jolene (Tony) Bui, of Weedsport, N.Y., and Savannah Robinson, of Tunkhannock, Pa.; stepdaughter, Melissa (Shane) Mackey, of Wellsburg; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gary (Debbie) Robinson, of Auburn, Ronnie (Laura) Robinson, of Silver Springs, Fla., Mark (Cindy) Robinson, of Port Byron, and Jesse (Zennie) Walters, of San Diego, Calif.; sisters, Cindy (Bobby) Purcell, of Auburn, Nancy (Jim) Carey, of Montezuma, N.Y., Susan (Chuck) Hillard, of Venice City, N.Y., Sally Hagan, of Auburn, and Mabyn Royko, of Auburn.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., Weedsport, N.Y., where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Interment with military honors will follow in Indian Mound Cemetery, Moravia, N.Y. A remembrance will be held immediately following burial at the Moravia VFW.
