Dozens of craft vendors filled the gymnasium on the college's Auburn campus Saturday and Sunday and drew big crowds of shoppers looking for unique gifts. This year's fair marked the 45th year for the school.
AUBURN — Holiday shopping was a success at this year's 45th Holiday Craft Fair at Cayuga County Community College.
CCC's is one of many — and perhaps the biggest — holiday season craft fairs and bazaars taking place this month in and around Cayuga County. In a retail world dominated by the likes of Walmart and Amazon, it's nice to see so many local residents still seeing value in the offerings of local artisans.

State police have identified the driver who was hospitalized after an accident in Sempronius Friday.
State police said a Marathon man ran his pickup truck through a stop sign and collided with a tractor trailer. While the driver of the tractor trailer was OK, the pickup driver suffered serious injuries.

Cornell and Syracuse men's basketball teams have met many times over the years, but last weekend's game at the Carrier Dome was special. On the Syracuse side was Hall of Fame coach Jim Boeheim and his son, freshman Buddy. For Cornell, Boeheim's other son, sophomore Jimmy, was on the court.
For fans who can remember watching the Boeheim boys as toddlers at their dad's games, it was a remarkable scene to see these men playing at the highest levels of college basketball on the court where they grew up.
