I want to thank your recent coverage of the Cayuga County Small Business Pitch Competition. However there was an oversight in that coverage that I believe must be addressed.
This competition is the initiative of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Onondaga Community College. The SBDC serves five Central New York counties; Cayuga being one. The purpose of the competition is to encourage residents of the county, who aspire toward having their own small business, to learn the steps necessary to do so while competing for a cash prize.
In order to afford this opportunity, the SBDC collaborates with Cayuga County businesses and their leaders who provide the necessary funding for the classes and the prizes. As the instructor of these classes and a former advisor at the SBDC (as well as an Auburn SCORE mentor) I am always grateful for this privilege. I believe all agencies deserve credit therefore; ask that the SBDC be recognized for its role. My hope is that you will print this missive towards that end.
