Unity House wishes to thank and acknowledge all of the generous individuals, organizations, businesses, and foundations that supported our mission during 2018. Every gift to Unity House, no matter how large or small, allows us to augment the services and programs our clients rely on to live happy, fulfilled lives.
For more than 40 years, Unity House has supported individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and those in recovery in central New York. While most of our budget comes from the state, only with the help of our friends and donors across the country are we able to significantly elevate the quality of our services.
2019 holds much promise. In recognition of our highly successful West Middle School apartment building project in Auburn, Unity House has been asked to lead a similar venture in Tompkins County. The agency has a large presence in the Ithaca area, and there is a tremendous need for affordable housing in Tompkins County. This exciting project makes sense for us, and we will be moving forward this year in identifying a likely location.
As always, public support assists us in expanding our services in central New York for those with the greatest need. We are deeply grateful for the trust our communities place in us. Thank you.
Elizabeth Smith is executive director of Unity House of Cayuga County Inc.
