I am writing in support of Kathleen Gorr, who is running for the seat in the 9th District of the Cayuga County Legislature.
In a year when water has become an important concern, from the floods in June to the contaminating algae blooms in September, Kathy has made a particular commitment to advancing plans for protecting our lakes, Owasco, Skaneateles, Cayuga as well as other local other water sources. She is sensitive to the damage of fracking and opposes it for our area. Additionally, she has focused on improving proper road drainage and maintenance to avoid the kinds of washouts and property damage that so many suffered in this year’s early summer flooding.
Kathy is native New Yorker and currently a resident of Niles. Her husband, Mike, teaches at Wells College. In campaigning with her as she went from house to house meeting voters in our area, I witnessed an upbeat and energetic candidate who wants to listen to the concerns of our community and bring them to the Legislature for action. As a lawyer and concerned citizen, she brings considerable negotiating skills and a willingness to work with all her fellow legislators for the betterment of our area in Cayuga County.
Please remember to vote on Nov. 7 for clean water, good roads and great representation in the legislature.
