I live in senior housing at the Boyle Center in Auburn, and while writing my monthly rental check, I came across an idea and maybe a solution could be found for the indigent problem. Recipients of public assistance who for whatever reason such as mold, asbestos, infestations, etc. are being housed in hotels costing the state millions of dollars. Why not utilize subsidized housing? One floor of apartments could be used for the indigent. It could:
1. Save money
2. Increase productivity
3. Add to financial resources
4. Less pandemonium
5. Hotel prices in NYC especially are out of sight
What do you as a taxpayer think of this?
Stand up and be counted.
