Recently, my wife and I have been the target of negative publicity in local TV and newspaper coverage relating to our construction of a basketball court off West Lake Road in Skaneateles. The news coverage contained a number of wild and inflammatory allegations claiming that we had polluted a steam leading to Skaneateles Lake, had created a public health hazard, and had violated our building permit. The news coverage was false, misleading and malicious.

The City of Syracuse and the New York state Department of Environmental Conservation have inspected the site on three separate occasions and stated "no water quality violations were observed."

Bottom line — anything that happens in Skaneateles is news and if it involves the mayor it's headlines. Stating the truth doesn't matter.
