Your article of Feb. 19 regarding a sustainability lecture at Wells College by Rachel Partington described New York's "State Energy Plan" (NYSEP) as critical to save New York. The Democrats now control the state Senate and Assembly; Governor Cuomo and the New York state Democrats are committed to implementing the NYSEP. It is expected the NYSEP is now on a clear highway for ultimate implementation.
A strong and compelling case can be made for declaring the NYSEP as the wrong plan to address man-made global warming, now called "climate change". For example, here are just two major concerns: 1. computerized climate models have proven incorrect over decades, and 2. climate models do not include natural climate change.
The NYSEP is also wrong because of the disparity between all the cost expended and the benefits obtained.
I believe it is critical that the news media, including The Citizen, take on the responsibility of informing the public of the total ramifications of the NYSEP.
