One of the highlights of 2018 was that Auburn was selected as the state of New York’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant recipient for the Central New York region.
The city of Auburn is in the process of planning our Downtown Auburn Revitalization Initiative program. This is a process that will only be successful if it includes input from the public. I am writing today on behalf of the Auburn City Council to inform the public about some upcoming public meetings that will be held to gather public input. The following Downtown Revitalization meetings will be held over the next two months:
• Local Planning Committee No. 4: Tuesday, Dec. 18, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Auburn Holiday Inn, 75 North St.
• Public Participation Meeting No. 2: Tuesday, Dec. 18, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Auburn Holiday Inn, 75 North St.
• An open house and public workshop: Tuesday, Jan. 8, 5 to 6:30 p.m. open house and 6:30 p.m. public workshop, Booker T. Washington Community Center, 23 Chapman Ave.
• Local Planning Committee No. 5: Tuesday, Jan. 22, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Memorial City Hall, 24 South St.
Online Comment Page: If you are unable to attend a public meeting we have created an online public comment page that can be found at this link: http://auburnsparks.com/contact-us/
In addition your written comments may be submitted to Christina Selvek, Office of the City Manager, 24 South St., Auburn, NY 13021.
Please note all of the above meetings are open to the public. You can make a difference. The cornerstone of any successful planning effort is active and continuous public involvement and we hope that you will be able to participate.
