The below text was an email I sent to state Sen. Michael Gianaris on Feb. 27. A copy of this email was also sent to state Sen. James Seward, state Assemblyman Gary Finch, Cayuga County Legislators Michael Didio and Charlie Ripley, the Niles Town Supervisor, Joan Jayne:

Hello Senator Michael Gianaris,

Thank you for listening to the opposition of your constituency, and voting to decline providing $3 billion of New York state taxpayer's hard-earned funds to Amazon. Your vote was a very public indication there are politicians who place social justice at the forefront.

You have my respect for deflecting the cat-calls of elected public servants who are in the employ of the people of the State of New York, and who seek to condemn the rights of the residents in NY Senate District 12 to their New York State Constitutional rights of home rule.

Charles N. Greene
