"I Love New York" took a hit this week with the feds finally clamping down on driver-distracting road signs. I wonder what they think of Vegas-style rolling billboards in front of ... schools!
Yeah, I guess I'm in the minority but these signs not only pose potential traffic problems, they tell a story. Garish, unnecessary (internet), AND expensive (boosters pay for some of the costs but taxpayers pick up the ongoing tail), these signs send the wrong message. Schools are forever crying for more money but to the fiscally responsible taxpayer driving by the school, it looks like they have plenty; they're just making poor choices.
