I ask the voters of Auburn to elect David B. Thurston as the next Auburn City Court judge.
The Auburn City Court serves many purposes in our community: deciding criminal cases, civil cases, landlord-tenant disputes, small claims and housing code violations. Our court has also successfully established problem-solving programs for those who come before the court suffering from addiction or behavioral health problems. These programs, supervised by the city court judge, focus on treatment and rehabilitation.
Judge Michael F. McKeon, who is retiring at the end of this year, has served our community with distinction and dedication for the past 20 years. The voters of Auburn now have the responsibility to elect his successor. To be successful, a judge must have the experience, commitment and temperament to fairly adjudge all who come to the court.
David Thurston has these qualities. Experience counts, and for the past four years he has served as a judge in this court. His tenure is marked by fairness and dedication to serving our community.
I have practiced law with Mr. Thurston and I have also represented clients in Auburn City Court for many years. I know that David Thurston has the intelligence, character and temperament to bring justice for all citizens of Auburn.
I endorse Mr. Thurston for this vital position. He has earned my respect and I now respectfully ask you to join with me and support David B. Thurston for Auburn City Court judge.
