Union Springs/Port Byron girls soccer has advanced to the next round of the Section IV playoffs after defeating Unadilla Valley on penalty kicks on Wednesday.

Tied 1-1 after 80 minutes of regulation, the two teams played two 10-minute halves of overtime. That was followed by two five-minute periods of sudden death. After neither team could secure the winning goal, the game went to penalty kicks.

Both teams went 2-for-5 in the first round of PKs. In the second round, Chloe Wilde and Anna Salls both scored for US/PB, while goalie Danielle Waldron denied all four attempts kicked her way to clinch the win.
