Shane Truman, left, and Andrew Collier were hired as Doubledays assistant managers in February 2017. Collier left his position with the team last month and Truman is departing next week.

One Auburn Doubledays assistant general manager has left his position and the other is on his way out.

Andy Collier left the organization to become the program director at Champions For Life two weeks ago, while Shane Truman is leaving next week to become the homeless coordinator for Cayuga County.

Both Collier and Truman said it wasn’t planned to leave around the same time, but the decision came down to spending more time with their families.

“We had talked about stuff and we were happy with what we were doing at the ballpark, but the opportunities came along and they were too good to pass up,” Collier said.

Doubledays general manager Adam Winslow could not be reached for comment Friday evening.

Truman and Collier were both hired as assistant general managers in February 2017 after previously serving in other roles around Falcon Park over the past couple decades.

For both, the reason for their departures was to have more time for family activities and to find something more fulfilling.

“The big thing for me was family,” Truman said. “I wanted to coach my kids and be with them more.”
