With a pair of events remaining, Jordan-Elbridge's Marion Quigley sits in prime position for a NYSPHSAA track and field title in the boys pentathlon.
Quigley currently sits in seventh place through Friday's three events at Middletown High School. He posted the second best time in the 110m high hurdles (15.42 seconds), jumped 5-10 in the high jump to tie for 11th, and recorded a distance of 35-10.5 in the shot put for 14th.
Quigley currently has 1,951 points with the long jump and 1500m run remaining. The current leader, Lancaster's Michael Wolford, has 2,182 points.
The final two events will take place Saturday, with the long jump schedule for 10 a.m. and the 1500m run slated for 12:25 p.m.
