The Auburn baseball team submitted another pitching gem as Will Coleman and Jacob Coleman combined to shut out Seton Catholic in a 1-0 win Saturday.

Will Coleman pitched the first 6 2/3 innings, striking out six while holding Seton Catholic to a single hit. Jacob Coleman came in for the final at-bat and induced a fly out to end the game.

The lone run of the game came in the first inning when Jacob Sanders grounded out to score Mark Locastro. Sanders finished 2-for-3, while Brendan Williams also registered a pair of hits. Jacob Coleman, Thomas Engle and Ryan Stewart also singled for the Maroons.

Port Byron/Union Springs 5, Lansing 2: Caleb Roden went 3-for-3 with a double, run scored and two RBIs. Ryan Bailey (run) and Zach Nickerson (two runs) recorded two hits each, and Brandon Relfe, Jake McNabb, Kyle Bailey (two RBIs) and Kody Kurtz all chipped in with a hit.

McNabb pitched six innings and held Lansing to two runs while scattering seven hits. He walked two and struck out four. Ryan Bailey pitched the final inning and struck out two batters.

PB/US faces Cato-Meridian on Monday.

BOYS TRACK AND FIELD

Groton Invitational: Union Springs' Ajani Huff came in second in the 400m dash, finishing the race in 53.11. Tad Patterson came in third in the 800m run (2:13.35), and Gavin Smithler placed third in the 200m dash (25.27).

Southern Cayuga's Chris Morris was the runner-up in the 800m run (2:06.91).

GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD

Groton Invitational: Rebecca Colgan was the winner in the 800m run, wrapping up that event in 2:33.07. Colgan, along with Jodie Jenkin, Allayna Dillon, Gabi Balog, placed second in the 4x800m relay with a time of 10:56.40. Grace Kime was second in the discus throw with a distance of 76-9.

Dillon added a third-place finish in the triple jump (29-0).

For Southern Cayuga, Alex deFerrante earned second place in the 400m dash, completing the race in 1:04.43). Sophia Bennett placed third in the 800m run (2:42.45), and Bridget Davis was third in the shot put (28-7.75) and discus (72-01).

BOYS TRACK AND FIELD

Weedsport Invitational: Cato-Meridian ranked sixth out of 15 schools with 38 points, Weedsport came in eighth with 35 points, Moravia was ninth with 27 points, and Port Byron was 10th with 20 points.

Cato-Meridian's Shawn Hunter, Josh Lovejoy, Hunter White and Nathan Conklin placed second in the 1600m sprint medley (3:57.30);Connor Griffin, Conklin, Jordan Greene and Merritt Cox teamed up to take third place in the 4x800m relay (9:40.19).

Lovejoy also won the pole vault (10-6).

The Warriors' Nick Blowers, Max Horsford, Justin Miles and Landon Kepple were second in the 4x400m relay (3:55.58), Daniel Cherry placed third in the pole vault (9-6), and Logan Reich came in second in the discus (105-01) and third in the shot put (39-9.5).

Port Byron's Pat Jorelomen won the triple jump (37-1.25) and had the third-best high jump (5-8).

Moravia's Andrew Badman was the second-place finisher in the 200m dash (24.26), the 400m dash (53.66) and the long jump (18-8.5).

GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD

Weedsport Invitational: The Warriors placed third out of 12 competing teams with 61 points, while Port Byron came in fourth with 43 points, Cato-Meridian was seventh with 38 points and Moravia was eighth with 34 points.

Weedsport's Mariah Quigley won the 100m hurdles, finishing in 16.97 seconds. Quigley was also the runner-up in the 400m hurdles, completing that event in 1:12.93. Jamison Daly was the runner up in the pole vault (7-0), and Cassi Carroll placed third in the triple jump (29-0.75).

Cassi Carroll, Sarah Carroll, Suzie Nemec and Allison House placed second in the 4x400m relay (4:44.55); and Sarah Carroll, Cassi Carroll, Quigley and Sydney Gilfus ranked second in the 1600m sprint medley (4:55.41).

For Port Byron, Nadia Edley earned a second-place tie in the high jump (4-4) and third place in the 100m hurdles (18.25). Morgan Lupo also tied for second in the high jump (4-4). Sabrina Westmiller placed second in the long jump (13-6.75).

Lydia Cox, Ella Power, Grace Cady and Megan Cady claimed second place in the 4x800m relay (11:43.44); and Power, Chelsea Dennison, Ariana Proper and Cox were third in the 1600m sprint medley (4:58.24). Cassie Chalon won the discus throw (87-0) and took third in the shot put (28-7.5).

Moravia's Alexis Anderson won the 100m dash (13.56) and placed in second in the 200m dash (28.77), and Lynnae Russell won first place in the 400m dash (1:06.52).

FROM THURSDAY

SOFTBALL

Weedsport 18, Cato-Meridian 3: Karena Ward was 3-for-5 with three runs and two RBIs, and Taylor Hunter went 3-for-3 with one RBI. Aubrey Ouderkirk finished 2-for-4 with three runs and an RBI, and Christina Jackson posted two hits and one RBI. Emily Clark scored a pair of runs.

Lauren Spingler earned the win from the circle, holding Cato-Meridian to seven hits and four walks while striking out four.
