The Moravia softball team scored all four of its runs in the first inning in a 4-1 win over Whitney Point on Friday afternoon.
Cassidy Pooler, Dakota Young Ross and Laura Landis all singled and had RBIs. Young Ross finished with two hits while Maddie Funk and Kaelyn Stanton both doubled.
Starting pitcher Funk struck out 12 and gave up four hits from the circle.
Moravia improves to 6-2 on the season.
Lansing 4, Union Springs/Port Byron 0: Bobcats pitcher Garrett Bell shut out the Wolves, only allowing three hits and striking out 14.
Brandon Relfe, Jake McNabb and Kyle Bailey each had a hit for Union Springs/Port Byron.
Bailey was saddled with the tough-luck defeat on the mound. Bailey only gave up four hits and only one of the four runs allowed was earned. He didn't walk a batter and struck out four.

Union Springs/Port Byron is now 8-2-1 on the season and will again play Lansing, on Monday afternoon.
West Genesee 224, Auburn 247: Sam Lesch led the way for the Maroons with a 51.
Sophie Lesch added a 58, Emily Botindari carded a 68 and Anna Tumber shot a 70.
Auburn (1-1) hosts Oswego Monday at Highland Park Golf Club.
Auburn 17, Oswego 5: Jake Morin scored five times, while Matthew Vanliew had four goals and two assists for the Maroons.
Greg Walsh chipped in a goal and three assists, Mitch Fanning finished with two goals and one assist, and Griffin Dautrich had a hat trick. Kiernan Scanlan and Joey Leonta each scored once, and Brady Elster and Lucas Hogan each had an assist.
Parker Hogan made four saves in goal.
