Kyle and Ryan Bailey combined for a four-hitter to lead the Port Byron/Union Springs baseball team to a 3-0 shutout against Phoenix Tuesday.
Kyle Bailey struck out seven, and allowed four hits and no walks over the first six innings. Ryan Bailey fanned one in a hitless seventh inning.
Jake McNabb recorded three hits (double) and an RBI for the Panthers, while Nick Jefferds had a pair of hits and scored once. Brandon Relfe had an RBI single, and Caleb Roden singled and scored.
Port Byron/Union Springs plays Tully Thursday.
West Genesee 8, Auburn 1: The Maroons opened the scoring in the first inning, but gave up eight unanswered runs in the loss.
Ryan Birchard had a pair of hits and the lone run for Auburn. Matthew Bergan, Ryan Stewart and Josh Steinbacher each added a hit.
Brendan Williams struck out two, and allowed five hits, two walks and a pair of walks over 4 2/3 innings. Drew Legarretta struck out one and walked one over the final 1 1/3 innings.
Auburn 19, Syracuse 0: Eleven different players recorded a point for the Maroons.
Natalie Calandra-Ryan tallied four goals and two assists, while Gabby McGinn added two goals and three assists. Caroline Netti and Carrissa Hlywa each scored three times, Abbie Izzo and Alayna Foos each had a a pair of goals, and Gracie Giannettino recorded two helpers.
Ella Doan had a goal and an assist, Jillian Alberici and Anna Montgomery each scored once, and Daisy Townsend had one assist.
Lexy Driscoll made three saves, while Quinn Brady finished with a pair of stops.
Auburn (7-1) travels to Jamesville-DeWitt on April 23.
Westhill 14, Auburn 7: Greg Walsh posted three goals and one assist, while Joey Leonti, Colin Tardif and Nick Pipher also scored. Lucas Hogan was credited with an assist. Hogan also led Auburn with five ground balls. Aiden Tardif made five saves in net.
Cicero-North Syracuse 7, Auburn 0: The Maroons dropped their season opener to the Northstars.
Auburn (0-1) travels to Liverpool Wednesday.
Auburn 6, Lewisville (South Carolina) 1: Playing at the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the Maroons picked up a win as part of the 2019 Grand Stand Softball Classic.
Doray DiLallo and Abby Marinelli both recorded two hits and two runs, and Meghan Wiseman, Morgan Marl (run, RBI, walk), Grace Baranick (two RBIs) and Morgan Cook (RBI) also recorded hits. Emma Nolan added a run.
Marl allowed one run (unearned) and five hits across seven innings from the circle. She struck out five for the win.
