Two seasons ago, Nate Wellington was a member of the Skaneateles football team that capped off its season with a state championship win at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse.
Now Wellington will try to make the Dome his permanent football home. The Lakers senior will attend Syracuse University in the fall as a preferred walk-on for the football team.

He had six 100-yard games in 11 contests as the Lakers went 11-1, falling in the NYSPHSAA Class B semifinal to Batavia.
