Skaneateles hockey vs. Whitesboro - Major

Skaneateles' Charlie Major skates down on Whitesboro's Bryce Gnatek Nov. 29 at the Skaneateles YMCA. 

The Skaneateles boys ice hockey team edged McQuaid 6-5 as Ryan Gick scored the winner with 56 seconds remaining in overtime, on assists from Luke Lynn and Charlie Russell, for the Lakers.

Gick finished with two goals, while Garrett Krieger recorded a hat trick. Cole Heintz posted one goal and one assist, Bauer Morrissey dished out three assists, Jack Henry, Charlie Major and Russell all had two assists each, and Cam Lowe chipped in with one assist.

Goalie Adam Casper had 30 saves for the victory.


Pulaski 55, Port Byron 47: The Panthers led by four at the half and trailed by four with 30 seconds left but couldn't rally.

Nick Jefferds led Port Byron with 16 points and Brandon Relfe added seven points. The Panthers (1-2) play at Cato-Meridian on Wednesday.

Marathon 54, Union Springs 47: Zach Nickerson was the Wolves' high scorer with 13 points on three 3s. Chris Daum added 10 points and Ryan Bailey scored nine. 

Union Springs (0-2) is home Tuesday against Groton.


Baldwinsville 102, Auburn 46: Joshua Whiting had the Maroons' lone individual first-place finish as he won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:22.94.

The Maroons' 400 freestyle relay of Connor McMillan, Sam Carbonaro, Michael Villano and Ethan Hickman won in a time of 4:01.31.

Villano took second in the 200 freestyle, Carbonaro was second in the 200 individual medley and McMillan finished second in the 50 freestyle.


Chittenango 3, Cato-Meridian 0: The Blue Devils lost by scores of 25-7, 25-7 and 25-16. Monica Bell had three kills and an ace and Sydney Stevens had three digs and an assist.

Meghan McCarthy added a pair of digs and a kill, Marissa Teska had a kill and a dig and Makayla Soutar chipped in with a kill.
