Softball brackets for this year's Section III tournament were revealed Thursday and four Cayuga County-area teams will be participating.

In Class A, Auburn (13-6) is the No. 6 seed and will begin in the quarterfinals on the road at No. 3 Whitesboro (13-5) Thursday, May 30. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. The Maroons enter sectionals trying to get back on track; Auburn began the season 12-3 but lost three of its last four regular season games. The two teams did not meet during the regular season.

In Class B, No. 11 Jordan-Elbridge (8-10) will travel to No. 6 Cazenovia (12-3) for the first round on Tuesday, May 28. The Eagles and Lakers met once during the regular season, with Cazenovia coming away with a 5-0 win on May 2.

Port Byron and Weedsport both qualified for the Class C tournament.

Port Byron (15-1) is the No. 3 seed and will host No. 14 South Lewis (6-7) on Tuesday, May 28. The Panthers enter sectionals as one of the hottest teams in central New York, having won 11 straight games. Along the way, Port Byron clinched county and league titles.

Weedsport (12-7) was given the No. 9 seed and will head to No. 8 Utica Notre Dame (12-5) on Tuesday, May 28. The Warriors ended the regular season on a strong note with three straight wins. During those three games, Weedsport outscored its opponents 44-13.

Championship games are slated for Monday, June 3. Class A and Class B title games will be held at Gillette Road Park in Cicero, while the Class C championship game will take place at Carrier Park in East Syracuse.
